An Agreement On Deepening Relations Between Armenia and Czech Republic
in trade and economic sphere was signed at the July 6 meeting of
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian with Foreign Minister
of Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg. E. Nalbandian reported at the
July 7 press conference.
"Cooperation between our countries proceeds successfully both in the
bilateral format and within the framework of Armenia-EU partnership,
including the European Neighborhood Policy," the RA Foreign Minister
said.
He added that an Embassy of Czech Republic has been functioning
in Armenia for already two years and expressed the hope that the
diplomatic representation of RA will be opened in Prague in the
near future.
Foreign Minister of Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg, in his turn,
said that during the discussions with his Armenian counterpart they
decided "to make bilateral agreements more active." "I hope my visit
will not be a usual one, but will be a start of expanded cooperation,"
he said.
Touching upon the Nagorno Karabakh problem, K. Schwarzenberg
stated that peaceful settlement is the only right way of problem’s
solution. Meanwhile, according to him, Czech Republic considers that
the principle of territorial integrity should be respected. As regards
holding a self-determination referendum, according to K. Schwarzenberg,
it still need to be cleared up who are to take part in that referendum
