CONFERENCE ON THE ROLE OF THE CINEMA IN ENCOURAGING INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE

The Council of Europe has made intercultural dialogue its priority
and in order to formulate a coherent and long-term policy for its
promotion within Europe and between Europe and its neighboring regions,
it is preparing a "White Paper" on the subject.
The Conference on the Role of the Cinema in encouraging Intercultural
Dialogue falls in line with this priority and will examine how cinema
can affect and promote intercultural dialogue. It will be held in
Yerevan during the Golden Apricot Film Festival, which will enable the
variety of festival participants to attend. It will bring together
high caliber representatives of the film world, film-makers, film
distributors, theatre managers, festival organizers and historians to
discuss this important role. The Conference will include the following
sub-themes: film co-production.
Golden Apricot Film Festival will take place from 13-20 July. The
festival is held with the support of RA Ministry of Culture.
