On July 11, 2008, the Caucasus Institute jointly with the Heinrich
Böll Foundation holds a roundtable discussion on Armenia in the
Near East: Infrastructure Globalization. The discussion will focus
on globalization and political developments in the Larger Near East
in the context of relations between Armenia and the leading nations
of the Near East. The roundtable will start with a presentation by
Professor David Hovannisyan, Yerevan State University.

The roundtable is part of a series of expert seminars and public
debates organized by the CI in the framework of a project supported by
the South Caucasus Bureau of the Heinrich Boll Foundation and aimed

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
