Education Minister: System Of Uniform State Exams Has Accomplished I

EDUCATION MINISTER: SYSTEM OF UNIFORM STATE EXAMS HAS ACCOMPLISHED IN ARMENIA

The system of uniform state exams has accomplished in Armenia,
Education and Science Minister Spartak Seyranyan said at a briefing
on Thursday.

The minister finds this year’s exams on Armenian language and
literature, mathematics, Russian and foreign languages successful.

He said that uniform examination will be held on all subjects in
2008/2009 academic year.

246 secondary school students were planned to take part in the last
exam on foreign language in John Kirakosyan secondary school in
Yerevan on Thursday.

Of them, 209 had to pass examination on English, 30 on German and
six on French.

However, 20 school students were absent from the examination. They
missed their chance to pass the uniform exam this year.

Additional uniform exams started on July 4. About 600 school students
participated in them.

Those final-year school students who didn’t want to enroll in
universities passed test "A" while the others passed test "B"
consisting of tasks for enrolling.
