"A signature gathering campaign"

A nationwide signature-gathering campaign started in the Republic
of Armenia yesterday [14 July], aimed at filing a suit at the
International Court of Justice in the Hague against [former President]
Robert Kocharyan for committing grave crimes against Armenian statehood
and the Armenian people.

"He seized the presidential post twice based on false documents,
thus committing a grave crime of seizing power. He strengthened
his sole and totalitarian power by shedding blood in the 27 October
1999 [shooting in the Armenian Parliament, which killed former Prime
Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, former Parliament Speaker Karen Demirchyan
and other officials] crime and established a really bandit regime in
Armenia. He left his office again by shedding blood in the 1 March 2008
violent slaughter [clashes between opposition protesters and police
which resulted in 10 deaths], which is a crime against humanity by
all its properties." Armenian citizens will have to sign under these
words, by this expressing their consent to filing a suit against
Robert Kocharyan at the International Court of Justice in the Hague.

Incidentally, the signature-gathering campaign already caused a great
stir among Armenian citizens on 14 July.
