The Ritz Hotel in Yerevan must be renamed into Ritzar within 10 days,
says the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition.

The chairman of the commission Ashot Shahnazaryan says that Manukyan
and Colleagues Ltd, which represents the interests of The Ritz Hotel
Ltd (UK) in the field of protection of intellectual property, has
complained to the Commission about violation of copyright.

The hotel is situated on Myasnikyan Avenue in Yerevan and belongs to
Ani-Rom company.

In 2007 the Intellectual Property Agency of the Ministry of Economy
of Armenia registered the trade mark "Ritz" as belonging to The Ritz
Hotel Ltd for 10 years.

Ani-ROM has promised to rename Ritz Hotel into Ritzar Hotel within
the specified period.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
