During a phone conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr
Mottaki invited his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian to a
conference of disengaged countries due in Tehran late July.

He also confirmed that Minister Nalbandian is expected in Iran
in September, RA MFA acting spokesman Tigran Balayan told a
PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

Iranian news agency IRNA said Iran, as a powerful and stable country in
the region, can bring about reconciliation between estranged neighbors
Turkey and Armenia.

The report of the telephone conversation between Mottaki and Nalbandian
indicates that a series of positive developments between Turkey and
Armenia may also be on the agenda. Mottaki expressed hope that positive
developments in Armenia-Turkey relations would help strengthening of
regional peace and friendship, according to the IRNA.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
