CSTO’S MILITARY COMPONENT MUST REMAIN STRONG

Chairman of the RA National Security Artur Baghdasaryan believes that
the military component of the Collective Security Treaty Organization
must not be weakened.

"The CSTO was formed as an organization supposed to contribute to
regional and international security, enhancement of the member-states’
defensive potential," Baghdasaryan stated at the opening ceremony
for the Rubezh-2008 CPX in Yerevan.

Baghdasaryan pointed out that finding the best means of averting
various threats is a guarantee of the CSTO’s efficient activities.

He also pointed out the necessity for strengthening the collective
security system. Baghdasaryan stressed that the Rubezh- 2008 CPX is
supposed to strengthen the CSTO’s military component. P.T.
