OSCE Minsk group Co-Chairs for Nagorno-Karabakh settlement welcome
constructive participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev
and Armenian President Serzh Sargsian after their meeting held in
St. Petersburg on June 6 and the Co-Chairs’ visit to the region on
June 27-28, a joint statement of OSCE MG Co-Chairs Yuri Merzlyakov
(Russia), Bernard Fassier (France) and Matthew Bryza (the U. S.) runs.
At this important juncture the Co-Chairs urge all parties to refrain
from maximalist initiatives on the spot, at the negotiating table and
in public statements, as well as to avoid belligerent rhetoric, as
we work together to achieve peaceful settlement", the statement runs.
Minsk group Co-Chairs again underscore that there is no alternative
to the conflict’s peaceful settlement. "The Co-Chairs look forward
to a new meeting with the RA and AR Foreign Ministers in the coming
weeks to continue talks on the Basic principles of the conflict’s
peaceful settlement", the statement’s authors conclude, Regnum reports.
