LOUIS MARIA THREATENS WITH A SCANDAL

PACE Chairman Louis Maria Puyich announced yesterday that if Armenia
fails to comply with the requirements of PACE Resolutions # 1609 and
1620, "there will be a scandalous situation in the Monitoring Committee
of the Council of Europe; besides, the discussion to be held during
the PACE fall session may produce disastrous consequences for Armenia"
and "sanctions will be applied immediately."
To the question whether this means that the issue may be raised during
the October session, the PACE Chairman gave a positive answer, adding
that it will "depend on the decision of the Monitoring Committee."
