Next year the 100th anniversary of Adana massacre will be
marked. Composer Ara Gevorgian’s work Adana which is devoted to the
memory of the victims of Armenian Genocide has been recorded in 17
languages, including Turkish. The name of the Turkish performer is
kept secret. This was announced by the famed composer during the
press conference held at Armenia’s National Library on July 28.
In the words of Hayk Demoyan, the director of the Armenian Genocide
Museum-Institute, what can be conveyed by song cannot be done by
diplomacy.
The singers Inka (Finland), Luise Werner (Sweden), Kai Auhagen
(Germany), and Daniel Decker (USA) share the same opinion. "The whole
mankind should be aware of what happened so that new tragedies would be
excluded. And the song has gained great popularity in our countries",
they underlined.
Felix Bakhchinian, the director of the Fridtjof Nansen Fund, gave
commemorative medals to A. Gevorgian, D. Decker, Inka, L. Werner,
and K.
