In the framework of his visit to the Sovereign Republic of Crimea
Armenian President Serge Sargsyan met with Ukrainian President Victor
Yushchenko.
The Ukrainian President reconfirmed his invitation for Serge Sargsyan
to make an official visit to Ukraine during the last three months
of 2008.
During their dialogue the two sides stressed the importance of setting
up an inter-governmental committee before the previewed official
visit to Ukraine.
An agreement was reached upon signing documents on cooperation in
different spheres.
S. Sargsyan and V. Yushchenko attached importance to the development
of Armenian – Ukrainian economic relations, and underscored that the
forthcoming Armenian – Ukrainian business conference will greatly
contribute to it.
V. Yushchenko proposed S. Sargsyan to visit one of Ukrainian provinces
during his coming official visit.
During the dialogue the two Presidents discussed issues
about cooperation in humanitarian sphere, culture, science
and education. V. Yushchenko emphasized the special role of
Ukrainian-Armenian community in the consolidation of the Armenian
-Ukrainian relations. He also expressed readiness to discuss all the
questions regarding the Ukrainian community.
During the dialogue the two Presidents discussed regional and
international issues.
