ArmInfo. Head of Armenian delegation to PACE David Haroutiunyan told
ArmInfo he is not informed so far who will replace the deceased Russell
Johnston on the position of Chairman of PACE Special Committee for
Nagorny Karabakh.

Asked if the structure will undergo any changes after the death
of Russell Johnston, D. Haroutiunyan said: ‘There is no relevant
information so far’.

To recall, PACE Special Committee for Nagorny Karabakh was set up at
PACE Bureau by the recommendation of the Assembly. The Committee is a
peculiar forum when Armenian and Azerbaijan parliamentarians discuss
Karagakh conflict. In connection with the recent presidential election
in Armenia and the upcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan,
the parliamentarians did not meet either during the Spring or Summer
Sessions of PACE. Another meeting is planned during the Winter Session
in January 2009.
