Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The events around Georgia and its separative
regions have not changed Azerbaijan’s approaches to regulation of
the conflict with Armenia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov said
Baku supports continuation of the talks with Armenia for the rapid
regulation of Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
"We have to keep on our talks with Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group
Co-Chairmen and bring the peace and stability into the region as
soon as possible. The solution of Karabakh conflict has to be based
on execution of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty,"
E.Mammadyarov said.
In August Georgia tried to conduct coercive redinegration of South
Ossetia and Abkhazia that has ended with the fact Russia recognized
the independence of the above-mentioned territories.
"Azerbaijan recognizes the territorial integrity of Georgia and
thinks that all conflicts should be solved only based on the norms
and principles of the international law. At the same time Azerbaijan’s
position is simple: as we declared earlier, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
with Armenia must be regulated as soon as possible on the basis of
international law principles within territorial integrity, sovereignty
and imperishability of universally recognized borders. Therefore,
our position will not be changed at all," E.Mammadyarov said.
