US SHIP SEARCHES FOR ARMENIA NEAR SEVASTOPOL COAST

On Sep 4, a oceanographic survey ship USNS Pathfinder entered the
Sevastopol port. The ship is to stay in the port Sep 4-6 and 15-17,
2008, REGNUM correspondent was informed in State Border Guard Service
of Ukraine.

Pathfinder is to take part in a joint Ukrainian-US project aiming to
discover sanitary transport ship Armenia shipwrecked in 1941 near Cape
Ayu-Dag and Ay-Todor Lighthouse, a source in the agency informed. The
source also reported that all formalities of the US vessel’s visit
had been observed. In particular, the source said, Ukraine’s cabinet
officially allowed the ship to enter Sevastopol as early as Aug 11.
