Baku is awaiting proposals from the OSCE mediators brokering a
settlement to the Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict regarding
a meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia,
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told journalists.

He recalled that at the latest meeting with the US, Russian and French
Minsk Group co-chairs in August, a decision was passed to schedule
the next ministerial meeting. However, no proposals on the venue or
timing of the meeting have yet been received.

Mammadyarov said his country remains committed to continuing talks,
both with Armenia and the co-chairs.

The two ministers last met at the Russian Foreign Minister`s residence
on August 1. Discussions centered on the Madrid principles for the
peace process, which were submitted to the sides late in 2007, as
well as those agreements reached by the two countries` presidents at
their meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia in June.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
