YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, NOYAN TAPAN. The September 7 elections of
heads of Yerevan’s Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun communities were held
by the same principles worked out by the robber system: again the
whole assortment of all-round electoral violations, voter buying,
stuffing of ballot-boxes, use of force, acts of violence, even forged
ballot-papers, and in the end, false figures. The statement of the
Armenian National Congress read.

The Armenian National Congress said that criminal elements were used in
the whole volume: two candidates of pro-governmental wing clashed with
each other in Arabkir, even a stabbing happened, as a result of which
there are injured people. According to the authors of the statement,
these facts show that the regime does not intend even if a little to
step back from the mechanisms of elections it imagines. "On the one
hand, it will be a dangerous precedent for it in the respect of losing
the power, on the other hand, the regime is encouraged by the fact that
by behaving the same way in the February elections, it seemed to find
"understanding" by European observation missions and organizations,"
the statement of the Armenian National Congress read.

It was also mentioned that "everything will go on just this way in
Armenia until the results of the latest presidential elections are
corrected, until its falsifiers are brought before the court."
