ArmInfo. Representatives of the national minorities living in Armenia
are sure Turkey should say sorry to the nations against which it
implemented genocide.
The leader of Assyrians Federation Irina Gasparyan positively
assessed the recent visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to
Armenia at today’s press-conference in Tesaket discussion club and
called it the first step on the way of kind neighbouring relations
establishment. At the same time she said that ‘Turkey should say sorry
for its historical past, but it has to ripen for that’. The leader of
Greek public organizations of Armenia Arkadiy Hitarov also positively
assessed Turkish’s president’s visit to Armenia but added that the
Greek living in Armenia were next to the members of ARF Dashnaktiutyun
over the protest action at the day of Gul’s arrival as they wanted to
say: ‘We are glad you have arrived, but don’t forget you have problems
with your historical past, and we did not forget it’. The leader of the
World and Armenian Union Ezids Aziz Tamoyan sharply commented on Gul’s
visit to Armenia. He said that as a citizen he welcomes establishment
of contacts with Turkey buy he is sure this process should not take
place at the expense of breaking of the national interests of Armenia
and the rights of national minorities. ‘Turkey implemented genocide
not only against Armenians but also Ezids, Greeks and assyrians. For
this reason it should say sorry to all of us’, – Aziz Tamoyan said.
