of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey not to affect issue
of recognition of Armenian Genocide

ArmInfo. Possible establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia
and Turkey will not affect the issue of recognition of the Armenian
Genocide, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute told
journalists, Saturday.
"The issue of the Armenian Genocide 1915-1923 should by no means be put
on the back burner. Not a single political step or event can’t move
aside the memory of people. This is historically excluded as this is an
all-Armenian problem, and this issue rules out any variant of
bargaining", the historian stressed.
According to Demoyan, it is no secret that Turkey lays down a number of
preconditions to establish bilateral relations, particularly, Armenia
should give up the policy of international recognition of the Armenian
Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. However, the historian considers
renewal of diplomatic relations and opening of borders to be a natural
international procedure, and in this context no other
problem should be considered with it.
