ACCORDING TO NKR PRESIDENT, MINSK GROUP FORMAT HAS NOT EXHAUSTED
ITSELF YET
ST EPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. A wide range of issues related
to the current stage and prospects of settlement of the Nagorno
Karabakh conflict, as well as the latest developments in the region
were discussed at the September 12 meeting of NKR President Bako
Sahakian and Matthew Bryza, the American Co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk
Group, who visited Stepanakert.
The NKR President said that official Stepanakert is for peaceful
settlement of the Karabakh-Azeri conflict with the direct participaion
of NKR in the negotiations process. According to B. Sahakian, the Minsk
Group format has not exhausted itself yet, and now is it early to speak
about change of this format.
Touching upon the events proceeding in the region, he said that
disputable issues should be solved exclusively by peace, through direct
negotiations.
As Noyan Tapan was informed by the General Information Department of
NKR President’s Administration, B. Sahakian attached importance to the
last steps aimed at establishment of relations between Armenia and
Turkey meanwhile saying that the most complicated problems can be
solved through a direct dialogue.
