UNIT INTERNATIONAL BELGIAN COMPANY TO BECOME BUYER OF ARMENIAN IN TURKEY

ArmInfo. UNIT International Belgian Company will become buyer of the
Armenian electric power in Turkey, Director General of "High-Voltage
Power Transmission Lines" CJSC Sahak Abrahamyan told ArmInfo.
He said that "High-Voltage Power Transmission Lines" CJSC signed
a contract of sale of electric power just with this Belgian company
during Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul’s visit to Yerevan on September
6. S. Abrahamyan also said that under the contract Armenia will supply
1,5 bln kWh electric power per year to Turkey during two years with
further increase of these volumes to 3,5 bln. Under the contract,
the Turkish party has been given 4 months to bring Kars PTL, through
which it is scheduled to supply electric power from Armenia to Turkey,
into technical compliance. The Armenian section of PTL is technically
ready for supplies which will start from early, 2009, he said.
