AHMADINEJAD INVITES ARMENIAN PRESIDENT TO IRAN

TEHRAN (FNA)- Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met
Tuesday with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to discuss recent
developments in the region.

During the meeting, Nalbandian thanked President Ahmadinejad for
assistance in transportation of Armenian cargo through Iran during
the Georgian crisis.

Expressing satisfaction with the effective economic ties and
implementation of joint programs, the sides agreed to encourage
close cooperation.

Also during the meeting, the Iranian president said he will be glad
to welcome Armenian leader Serzh Sargsyan in Tehran.
