ELMAR MAMMADYAROV DELIVERS SPEECH ON THEME "PROSPECTS OF AZERBAIJAN’S FOREIGN POLICY" AT INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR STRATEGIC STUDIES

London – APA. Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov delivered
speech on the theme "Prospects of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy"
at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Great
Britain. Spokesman for Foreign Ministry Khazar Ibrahim told APA that
the diplomats of a number of foreign embassies accredited in London,
representatives of research centers, scientific circles, private
sector and journalists participated in the event.
The minister gave broad information about the common directions of
Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, the main problems, present situation
around the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and noted that the settlement
of the conflict was an important factor to ensure regional
security. Touching on the reforms carried out in the country Elmar
Mammadyarov underlined that successful activities were being carried
out in numerous spheres and reforms were continued. The Minister noted
that according to the recent report of the World Bank, Azerbaijan is
the world’s leading reformer of business regulations. Following this,
Elmar Mammadyarov answered questions of the audience.
Foreign Minister also met with Dennis Sammut, Executive Director of
LINKS and project director of Reconciliation Resources. They discussed
regional issues and especially Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.
Following this, Elmar Mammadyarov met with the representatives of the
leading Diaspora organizations in Great Britain. They exchanged views
on Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, development prospects, happenings
in the region, recent state of the negotiations on the settlement of
Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
