"YEREVAN DAY" CELEBRATIONS TO BE HELD OCTOBER 10-11

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS: The 2,790th anniversary of Yerevan
will be marked October 10-11. Yerevan deputy mayor Vano Vardanian said
today at a press conference that for conducting "Day of Yerevan" on
an appropriate level preparatory works are currently being carried out.
The opening of the celebrations will take place on October 10 in the
Opera and Ballet Academic Theatre. On the same day a concert will take
place in Republic Square and in central streets different cultural
and sports events will be organized.
Within the framework of the celebrations "Yerevan" book will be
presented and exhibitions will be held.
V. Vardanian said that during the days of celebrations delegations
from Yerevan’s sister towns and cooperating towns will visit the
capital. As of today’s information delegations from Russia, Ukraine,
Moldova, Italy, Iran, Kazakhstan, Georgia will arrive in Yerevan.
