Gold medal contender Samvel Ter-Sahakyan tied the game with his
Turkish counterpart Mustafa Yilmaz in the seventh round of the European
Chess Junior Tournament. The Armenian chess player who plays in the
16-year-old group has tied the game for the third time in a row and
is in second place with 5.5 points on the list headed by Ukrainian
chess player Ilya Nizhnuk with 6 points.

Karen Grigoryan who plays in the 14-year-old group keeps us amazed
by winning French chess player Maxim Lagardi who has a higher
score. Grigoryan leads the tournament by 6 points along with two
other chess players.

In the tournament of the 14-year-old group Khachatur Yeranyan also
made it up to the leading chess players with 5 points and is currently
in 7th place.

These three Armenian chess players have good chances of winning the
gold medal, however, the remaining twenty of which seven are competing
in the girls’ tournament have been disqualified from participating
in the bonus tournament.
