TWO CANDIDATES TO THE POST OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT SPEAKER

ArmInfo. Today Armenian National Assembly started election of the
new speaker
Candidacy of the former head of the president’s administration Hovik
Abrahamyan from the ruling coalition. For its part the opposition
Heritage party has nominated the candidacy of the ex-ombudsman Larisa
Alaverdyan.
Hovik Abrahamyan said in his speech he is going to take all possible
efforts for effective work of the parliament. He is also going
to make active actions for resolving of the challenges against
the country. He assured he will do everything possible to ensure
transparent work of the parliament and to raise its role. The relations
"parliament-government" should be the partner ones, Abrahamyan said
and added if he is elected, the parliament will fulfill all the
recommendations of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
