Azerbaijan, Baku, 01 October /corr. Trend News A.Gasimova / The
conference on Diaspora’s role in development of strategic partnership
between Azerbaijan and the United States in Washington on 1-2 October
is a chance for Azerbaijani Diaspora in the United States to play
a more active role in America’s democracy on issues that it cares
about, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Matthew Bryza,
who will arrive in Baku on 1 October told TrendNews .

"Our broad range of diaspora communites enriches our political life
in the United States," he said.

The U.S. First Deputy Secretary of State, John D. Negroponte, arrived
in Baku, a source at the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan told TrendNews
on 1 October. The visit will last till 3 October.

Negroponte will discuss in Baku the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
settlement, wide spectrum of questions with regards to security,
strategy, and also Russian-Georgian conflict.The First Deputy Secretary
of State will meet with the representatives of the Government of
Azerbaijan and business people of the Republic.
