ArmInfo. Armenia’s economy needs centers of software licensing, Deputy
Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahe Danielyan said at presentation
Softline Company Office in Armenia.
‘Development of IT-sector is senseless without program licensing
culture and countrywide use of these programs. It gives confidence
to developers that their work will be profitable, which is favorable
also to the country’, he said. The deputy minister said turnover
of piracy software in Armenia totaled 93% by data of the Business
Software Alliance rating published in May 2008. Softline is a Russian
company founded in 1993. The company is engaged in software licensing,
organization of training courses and mediation services in the
market of IT-enterprises. The company’s turnover for 2007 totaled
292 million drams. Softline Office in Armenia operates from April
2008. The company has 41 officers in 14 countries.
