The number of economically active people of our population is 1 mln
193 thousand 900 in the first eight months of this year; 1 mln 118
thousand 900 of them – employed. According to the National Statistical
Service of Armenia, 75 thousand people are officially registered as
unemployed, "Armenpress" reported.
The level of the official unemployment decreased by 0,2 percent to
6,2 percent in August compared with the beginning of the year.
According to the indexes of the end of August, 91 thousand 300 people
look for work, 6 thousand 400 of them are 16-24 years old and 11
thousand 900 – 25-30 years old.
Yerevan has the highest index of manpower supply – 20 thousand, then
come the provinces of Shirak – 15 thousand 200, Lori – 13 thousand 500,
Vayots Dzor has the lowest index – 1600.
