SERVICE: Didiom launches Public Beta of its new Mobile Music
Place-Shifting and MP3 Download Service

Didiom, an award-winning mobile media service provider, last week
announced the Beta launch of the first mobile application to integrate
a mobile music place-shifting service and a pay-per-download,
full-track service that offers over 1 million MP3 songs. The free,
all-in-one Didiom application allows music fans to wirelessly access
their home computer’s iTunes library from over two hundred mobile
devices, including Windows Mobile smartphone and BlackBerry
devices. The Beta period will give users an opportunity to test the
service and to provide valuable feedback, which will help shape
Didiom’s over-the-air service and new user interface.

Didiom also announced that it has signed licensing deals with CD Baby
(the world’s largest online retailer of independent music), Naxos (the
world’s leading producer of classical music), Saavn (the world’s
largest digital distributor of South Asian content) and a growing
lineup of independent music partners, including Phonofile, Bonzai
Music, Soul Seduction, eClassical, Xpressbeats, Reggae Country,
MisRolas, EmuBands, Armenian Music Center, Quarterlife Records and
Resonant Vibes. These licensing deals mark a major milestone in
Didiom’s mission of bringing a comprehensive selection of music to
today’s generation of wireless consumers.

Starting last week, Didiom offers two free downloadable applications
at a handset application that allows users to
simultaneously access the Didiom Marketplace and their PC-based music
library, and a desktop application that allows users to stream music
directly to their phone. With over 1 million MP3 songs, the Didiom
Marketplace allows users to shop for music directly from their phone
without having to sideload through their PC. In addition, users can
name their own price and download to their mobile, to their PC, or to
both. The mobile download will be available to their phone, and the PC
download will be available online. Most songs are between US$ 0.89
(single download) and US$ 1.39 (dual download). Most albums are
between US$ 9.99 (single download) and US$ 12.99 (dual download).
Users will need to set up a Didiom account, but they do not need to
provide their credit card information. When they are ready to make
purchases, they pay per download or prepay and receive a cash bonus.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
