ARMENIAN PREMIER DISCUSSES WORLD ECONOMIC CRISIS WITH IMF MANAGING DIRECTOR

YEREVAN, October 14. /ARKA/. Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan discussed
the world economic crisis issue with IMF Managing Director Dominique
Straus-Kahn, the Press Secretary of the Premier Diana Mnatsakanyan
reported.

The sides discussed oil price reduction trends and their possible
impact on the Armenian economy, the press release says. They also
considered possible opening of an IMF representative office in Yerevan
to support reforms implemented in Armenia. The sides agreed to discuss
the issue on opening an office once again in November when an IMF
delegation is in Yerevan.

Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan is in Washington from October 9 to
October 15 to participate in an annual forum of the World Bank and
the International Monetary Fund. The Armenian delegation consists
of the country’s Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan, Minister
of Finance Tigran Davtyan Advisor to President on Economic Issues
Vahram Nersisyants, Head of Government Staff David Sargsyan, Chairman
of the Central Bank Arthur Javadyan, Deputy Foreign Minister Arman
Kirakosyan Armenian Ambassador to the USA Tatul Margaryan and other
officials.
