Armenia: Grape yield amounts to 136,000 tons
ABSTRACT
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia, the grape yield
in the country decreased 7,000 tons to 136,000 tons in 2008 against
2007. The yield decrease led to the fall of grape storage. The grape
storage in Armenia fell 5.9% to 136,000 tons in 2008 against 2007. The
storage leading companies are Yerevan Cognac Plant, which bought about
31,000 tons of grapes, and Yerevan Ararat Brandy-Wine-Vodka Factory
with 23,800 tons of grapes. Over 7,000 tons of grapes were bought by
Ararat Cognac Plant, Proshyansky Cognac Plant, and Shaumyan Wine
Plant. About 35 companies in the country store grapes.
