ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONS WITH ARMENIAN COMMUNITIES IN ABROAD IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF ARMENIAN DIASPORA MINISTRY

ArmInfo. Establishment and development of relations in all the
spheres – culture, economy, education, law and science, with Armenian
communities in abroad is the main purpose of the newly created Armenian
Diaspora Ministry, Armenian Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakopyan told
journalists today.

She also added over 29 days since its creation the ministry has drown
out many programmes which will be fulfilled in 2009. The main tasks
of the ministry charged by the president is preserving of Armenian
nation, which first of all supposes preserving of the national
language, Armenian family, culture and Christian religion, using
internal potential of Diaspora in favour of the Armenian state. The
minister said they are going to fulfill the programme on returning
of Armenians back to their native land. To resolve the problem a
conference will be organized in December 2008 to discuss it.

Hranush Hakopyan also said they are going to develop cooperation
with different public organizations, UN office in Yerevan, National
Academy of Science, Yerevan State University, etc. Supported by UN
soon they are also going to create internet-site of the ministry in
6 languages. She also called on mass media to support the work of
Diaspora Ministry.
