Prosecutors Try To Find Cause Of Infection

PROSECUTORS TRY TO FIND CAUSE FOR INFECTION

During the week of October 18-28 nearly 341 residents of the Lori
Marz were transferred to hospitals with symptoms of stomach-intestinal
infection.

Discussing the results of the check-ups of the cases of infection
exceeding the average level in the Lori Marz and with the instruction
of RA Prosecutor General, a Lori Marz prosecutor filed a case on
October 28 based on the points stated in the 1st part of article
277 of the RA Criminal Code (violation of sanitary/epidemic rules
and regulations).

According to the press release of the RA Prosecutor General’s office,
the criminal case was sent to the investigation department of the
Lori Marz police to conduct a preliminary investigation. An experiment
has been assigned, an investigative body has been formed to find out
the cause for the infection and to reveal and bring to justice the
officials whose actions or lack of actions have led to the cause for
mass infection in the cities of Alaverdi and Vanadzor.

There has been no death case reported, patients are safe and are under
the supervision of the doctors. On October 28, nearly 100 patients
were transferred out of the hospital in fair condition.
