HIS HOLINESS ARAM I RECEIVES THE GENERAL SECRETARY
OF THE WORLD COUNCIL OF CHURCHES IN GENEVA

His Holiness Aram I received the General Secretary of the World Council of
Churches (WCC), Rev. Dr. Sam Kobia, in the hotel he is staying in Geneva
recently. The vice-chairwoman of Ecumenical Committee of the Catholicosate,
Ms. Teni Pirri Simonian also attended the meeting.

The Pontiff and his guest discussed the possibilities of developing the
cooperation between the WCC and the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC),
the need to give a new push to the Christian-Muslim dialogue. They also
talked about the WCC’s future projects.

His Holiness’ upcoming official visit to the Vatican next month was also
discussed. His Holiness was invited as keynote speaker for the international
Christian-Muslim Dialogue conference in Geneva.
