CATHOLICOS ARAM I VISITS ARMENIAN AND LEBANESE EMBASSIES IN IRAN

TEHRAN, NOVEMBER 4, ARMENIANS TODAY – NOYAN TAPAN. Catholicos of
Cilicia Aram I, who is on a 7-day visit to Tehran, had a meeting with
representatives of the Deputy Assemblies and the Diocesan Councils
of the three Iranian Armenian dioceses on November 1.

Then His Holiness visited the embassies of Armenia and Lebanon in
Iran. The Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Iran
Karen Nazarian met him in the Armenian embassy. The diplomatic staff of
the embassy, the leaders of the three Iranian Armenian dioceses as well
as national and public figures of the Armenian community were present
at the meeting. During the meeting that passed in a warm atmosphere
the ambassador spoke about the growing relations between Armenia and
Iran in economic, cultural, energy, transport and political spheres,
attaching importance to the role of the Armenian community of Iran
in these relations. His Holiness expressed his satisfaction at the
development of relations, underlining the necessity of giving impetus
to Armenia-Diaspora cooperation.

"Aliq" daily reported that at the conclusion of the meeting Ambassador
Nazarian presented Catholicos Aram I with souvenirs on the occasion
of the 40th anniversary of his ordination.
