/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan refuted
media reports that Russia used its military base in Armenia during
the August war with Georgia.

"The 102nd Russian base can be put into operation along the perimeter
of the former USSR and with the consent of the Armenian side. The
Armenian anti-aircraft system controls the republic’s airspace and
doesn’t confirm the hearsay," he told a briefing in Tbilisi, Izvestia
daily reports.

Currently, in Georgia, Seyran Ohanyan held a meeting with his
counterpart David Kezerashvili to discuss military cooperation between
the two states.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
