The resolution of the Karabakh conflict must start with provision of
the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, said co-chair of the OSCE
Minsk Group Matthew Bryza, according to Azerbaijani Lider channel.
"The status of Nagorno Karabakh can not be defined unilaterally
and the position of both sides must be taken into account in this
issue. The conflict settlement must start with provision of the
territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Other issues can be discussed
only after it", said Bryza. He noted that the main issue lies in
"coming to a common denominator".
In turn, OSCE MG Russian co-chair Yuri Merzlyakov announced that the
main purpose of the current visit of the mediators is discussion of
the issues, resulting from the Moscow declaration and definition of
the further steps in the resolution of the Karabakh problem.
"At the same time the parties may present any alternative proposals. I
think positive changes in the resolution of the conflict will further
continue", said the diplomat.
French co-chair Bernard Fassier is expected to arrive in Azerbaijan
soon.
After talks in Baku the mediators will leave for Yerevan on November
14.
