MOSCOW, November 14 (RIA Novosti) – The CIS heads of government
gathered in Chisinau on Friday to discuss more than 30 issues,
focusing on economic development strategy for the bloc through 2020,
a Russian government source said.

On the sidelines of summit, the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin
will hold a number of one-on-one meetings with his CIS counterparts,
in particular with Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin to discuss the
Transdnestr settlement and Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko
to discuss Russian natural gas deliveries.

The CIS, a loose alliance of former Soviet states, comprises Russia,
Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova,
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Ukraine is a founding and participating country but technically not
a member state. Turkmenistan holds associate status, while Georgia
recently withdrew over the South Ossetia conflict.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
