YEREVAN, November 14. /ARKA/. Armenia’s parliamentary majority is
likely to back the draft 2009 budget, but the Heritage (Zharangutyun)
opposition party will abstain from voting, said Larisa Alaverdyan,
Heritage member.

According to the MP, it is dubious whether the proposals made by the
party during the parliamentary discussions on the draft budget have
been accepted.

"We will make a final decision after the first reading," Alaverdyan
said.

Heghine Bisharyan from the Orinats Yerkir (State of Law) coalition
party said the parliament had put off the draft 2009 budget discussions
for four days to give MPs time to make proposals.

The MP expressed hope that the parliamentary faction would be able
to settle all issues on the state budget 2009.

According to Leader of the Armenian Revolutionary federation
Dashnaktsutiun (ARF-D) Vahan Hovhannisyan, their party has not made
a final decision yet.

He said each faction has its own attitude to the issue.

The Republican Party of Armenia and Prosperous Armenia (Bargavatch
Hayastan) Party said they would vote for the draft budget.

The parliament launched Wednesday discussions on the sate budget.

Armenia’s 2009 budget receipts and expenditures are set at 905.4bln
drams and 945.4bln drams respectively, with the deficit totaling
40bln drams.

GDP (gross domestic product) is likely to grow 9.2%, with inflation
target being 4% (± 1.5%). The exchange rate of the Armenian dram
(AMD) is set at AMD 302.4 per $1.
