The "Foreign Ministry" of separatist "NKR" has released a statement
due to the incident on the contact line of the formations of "Nagorno
Karabakh" and the armed forces of Azerbaijan.

According to sources from the Karabakh Foreign Ministry, in the result
of measures, taken by the servicemen of the defense army of "NKR" the
group was pushed to the initial positions, having losses (one soldier).

The document says that the said fact was presented to the OSCE
Minsk Group co-chairs and personal representative of the OSCE
chairman-in-office.

The Foreign Ministry made a proposal to hold a crisis monitoring on
the said section of the contact line of the armed forces of "NKR"
and Armenia.

The separatist ministry noted that the said attempt was taken by the
Azerbaijan side in the days of the visit of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs
and personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office in "Nagorno
Karabakh Republic", as well as following the recently signed Moscow
declaration, fixing readiness of the sides to promote establishment
of environment of stability and security in the region by way of the
political resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

Noting that this is not the first attempt of the diversion groups
of the armed forces of Azerbaijan to the front lines of the armed
forces of "NKR" this year, the separatist "Foreign Ministry" reminds
that the Karabakh leadership has repeatedly drawn attention of the
mediators to the need for the immediate measures of world community
on strengthening regime of ceasefire in the area of Nagorno Karabakh
conflict and provision of of peace.

"Considering the destructive steps of official Baku, which,
unfortunately, did not receive the due political assessment from the
side of international mediators, the ministry puts responsibility for
the possible escalation of tensions on the contact front line to the
Azerbaijani leadership", says the statement.

The due note, fixing the official visit of the "NKR" powers on the
said issue has been sent to the OSCE chairman-in-office and personal
representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office", says the document.

"On the night of November 16, at about 4:00 am, a special division
of Azerbaijani armed forces trespassed a contact line of the armed
forces of "Nagorno Karabakh" and Azerbaijan in the southeastern
direction, attempting to penetrate into the base of the "NKR" defense
army, serving on the positions not far from the Ashaghi Seidahmedli
settlement", said spokesman for the "Defense Ministry" of the so-called
"NKR".

The source reported that the servicemen of "NKR" resisted the enemy,
pushing it back to the initial positions.

"The Azerbaijani side had one loss, while Karabakh did not have any
loss", says the statement.

According to the press service, this is the next serious incident
following the attack of the Azerbaijani diversion group on the night
of March 4 of 2008 on the position of the Karabakh army near Levonarkh
village of Martakert region of "NKR".

"The Defense Ministry" of Nagorno Karabakh pays a special attention
to the fact that Azerbaijani side violated ceasefire at the moment,
when OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs were visiting Khankendi".

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
