NAGORNO-KARABAKH POPULATION SHOULD HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE IN SECURITY, OSCE MINSK GROUP CO-CHAIRMEN THINK

ArmInfo.The population of Nagorno-Karabakh should have an opportunity
to live in security, French Co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group Bernard
Fassier said during a press-conference in Yerevan, Monday. At the
moment, this security is ensured by Armenian and Karabakh parties,
but at the same time, there is a strong opposition in the name
of Baku. Karabakh people’s security should be also reinforced by
international guarantees, he added.

US Co-chairman Matthew Bryza said that Karabakh people should have
a feeling of safety in both military and economical respect.

For his part, Russian Co-chairman Yuri Merzlyakov said that
the territories of the security zone play a considerable role in
ensuring Karabakh people’s security. In case of relevant exchange,
including international guarantees of security, the territories
may be returned. And in this context nobody has yet asked Karabakh
population’s opinion.

Therefore Bryza can’t agree with the opinion that Karabakh people by
100 percent come out against the return of territories with observance
of the security conditions.
