ROMANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER OPTIMISTIC ABOUT ARMENIAN-ROMANIAN ECONOMIC COOPERATION

YEREVAN, November 17. /ARKA/. Armenia-Romania economic cooperation
has good prospects, Romania’s Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu said
at a press conference in Yerevan.
He called on both countries to join efforts to boost bilateral economic
relations, saying he intended to focus on economic cooperation during
his diplomatic mission. The minister stressed the importance of trade
relations in view of the current situation in the global financial
market.
Comanescu pointed out several scenarios of boosting Armenia-Romania
cooperation, adding he had chosen Romanian entrepreneurs, trade
representatives and power engineering specialists to accompany him
during his official visit to Armenia. Comanescu said promotion of small
and medium businesses is one of the priorities of the European Union.
Armenia-Romania trade turnover reached $760mln 724,000 between January
and September 2008, compared to $510mln 390,000 in the same period
last year.
