Within the framework of the visit to Lithuania, Armenian Foreign
Minister Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with his Lithuanian
counterpart Petras Vaytekunas.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Minister Nalbandian underlined
that Armenia attaches importance to the development of friendly and
mutually beneficial cooperation with Lithuania and the decision to
establish an Armenian Embassy in Vilnius next year is a proof of it.

Ministers Nalbandian and Vaytekunas expressed appreciation for the
high level of political dialogue between the two countries and the
existing contractual-legal field, which serves as a serious basis for
deepening the bilateral relations. The Ministers stressed the necessity
of taking steps to ensure the development of trade-economic relations.

The interlocutors discussed the Armenia-EU relations and the steps to
be taken for the purpose of establishing closer bilateral cooperation.

The agenda of the talks between the two Foreign Ministers included
issues of the Caucasus region. Presenting the process of settlement
of the Artsakh issue, Minister Nalbandian emphasized the importance
of continuing the negotiations in the spirit of the declaration the
Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed in Moscow on
November 2.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Lithuania exchanged views on
the opportunities of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations.

The parties agreed to enhance the cooperation between the two countries
in the fields of economy and culture.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
