Joseph Pennington: It Is Not Clear Yet If Financial Crisis In The US

JOSEPH PENNINGTON: IT IS NOT CLEAR YET IF FINANCIAL CRISIS IN THE USA WILL AFFECT REDUCTION OF USAID PROGRAMMES IN ARMENIA

ArmInfo. It is not clear yet if financial crisis in the USA will
affect reduction of the programmes in Armenia being financed by
US government, in particular USAID, US deputy ambassador to Armenia
Joseph Pennington told ArmInfo correspondent. Anyway, he added, one
should not expect for immediate negative effect as the financing
programmes of US government in Armenia for the current years are
implemented according to the arranged plans.

He also the crisis is progressing all the time, but Mr.Pennington
has no information about reduction of USAID budget in Armenia. He
thinks something definite may be said regarding the issue only after
changing of US presidential administration in March-April 2009.
