The Foreign Ministry of Karabakh reports, on the night of November
16 the special detachment of Azerbaijani armed forces tried to
penetrate the defense of Karabakh armed forces in the southeastern
direction. But due to the actions taken by Karabakh servicemen they
beat off the attack. One Azerbaijani soldier was killed.
The Foreign Ministry of Karabakh particularly underscores the fact
that the incident took place at the time when the OSCE Minsk Group
Co-Chairmen and the OSCE Chairman in Office Anjey Kasperchik were in
Karabakh, when the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia have
signed a declaration in Moscow on finding a political settlement to
the conflict.
Emphasizing that the attack initiated by Azerbaijan was not the first
this year Karabakh Foreign Ministry over again brought the attention
of the mediators and the international community on the fact that
the peaceful settlement and the strengthening of the ceasefire regime
is unavoidable.
They laid the whole responsibility of the attack on the Azerbaijani
authorities.
The special note expressing the official standpoint of Karabakh
authorities was addressed to the OSCE Chairman in Office and the
Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman in Office.
