TEACHING TOLERANCE IN SCHOOLS

Today a triple memorandum on "teaching and developing tolerance
in schools" was signed in the Ministry of Education and Science by
Ms. Consuelo Vidal the head of United Nations office in Armenia, the
Minister of Education and Science Spartak Seyranyan and the director of
"National Institute of Science" Norayr Ghukasyan.

Minister Seyranyan mentioned that the memorandum will become a
principle point to start cooperation in contributing tolerance
activities.

According to N. Ghukasyan the memorandum defines various aspects of
cooperation, in particular organizing seminars for the trainers of
the Ministry and the Institute.

Mrs. C. Vidal noted that it is not by chance that the current
memorandum is signed two days after the International Tolerance Day
of the UN.
