COMMITTEE GOES ON HUNGER-STRIKE

The Committee for the Protection of Armenian Political Prisoners
issued a statement today, which runs in part:

"The political prisoners held in Armenian prisons as hostages for
more than eight months will go on a one-day hunger-strike on November
20 as a protest against the duality and inconsistency of the Council
of Europe.

We, the undersigned, will also stage a round-the-clock hunger-strike
at 12 a.m. November 20 in support of our jailed friends struggling
for a free and democratic Armenia.
