Dickranian School Gets New Basketball Court

Los Angeles: Since Mr. Rudolph Rameh’s assignment as the new Athletic
Director of the TCA Arshag Dickranian School, the adage ‘Healthy Mind
in a Healthy Body’ has taken a new stance. Last year, Mr. Rameh
wasted no time to upgrade the physical education facilities of the
school to enhance the athletic program, at the same time injecting new
vigor among the students by establishing multilevel sports teams and
organizing intramural games.

The most recent of such improvements occurred when a section of the
school playground was resurfaced and painted to be transformed into a
full size basketball court, allowing the school to host visiting teams
and organize interscholastic competitions.

The ribbon cutting ceremony of the court took place on Friday,
November 14 at 4:00 P.M., attended by Mr. George K. Mandossian,
Chairman of the school Board of Trustees, members of the Athletic
Committee, and an enthusiastic crowd comprised of parents and
students. The ceremony was followed by the Dickranian Lions
challenging the visiting Pacifica Christian High School team into a
friendly game, which ended with the home team winning.

The event ended with a reception at the Walter and Laurel Karabian
Hall, where team members, coaches, and game watchers enjoyed light
snacks and soft drinks.

The TCA Arshag Dickranian Armenian School is a federally tax exempt,
Pre-K to 12th grade private educational institution serving the
Armenian community of Greater Los Angeles since 1981.
