According to GEVORG POGHOSYAN, Head of the Armenian Sociological
Association, "There are several key issues over which we have
consensus, i.e. almost 90 percent identical approaches. And Karabakh
is one of them.
We conducted polls on different occasions for 10-15 years continuously,
and I can definitely say that this is really the question that doesn’t
allow for any divergence of opinions. We always had the same picture,
with fluctuations of 2-3 percent.
The recent polls conducted in Armenia and Artsakh also come to show
that 95 percent of the population doesn’t imagine Karabakh as part
of Azerbaijan. They find that the Nagorno Karabakh Republic may be
independent; it may form part of Armenia and even be an independent
political unit in the Commonwealth of Independent States, but it
should never be ruled by Azerbaijan."
